The Boys in Scotland
THE ALES OF SCOTSMEN By Chris Friend
A TIMELESS MOMENT FOR THREE YOUNG TRAVELLERS
Last night, Critta, Braden and I found ourselves wandering the small town streets of thurso, looking for a pot of classic ale, or maybe a drop of scotch to take the helmet of the week that was. We spotted a small pub on the corner, with it’s tiny windows fogged against the nippy four degree breeze. As just a couple of humble travellers, looking for a pot of ale, we were awed as walked into what seemed like a step back in time- a classic bustling 1800′s pub. Music flowed, drinks were being spilled as the local whafsmen slandered stories to each other by the bar, only occasionally directing their slander towards the bar staff, “aye young lass, ‘nother glass of whisky over here, ay love!” A couple of ciders later and Critta just had to capture the moment! Timeless!
